National Register of Historic Places
Project type
National Registry
Role
Historical Preservationist
The National Register of Historic Places was established in 1966 to recognize the country’s most important historic sites. While people and communities often seek to have their property or districts listed for honorific purposes, listing on the Register may also open doors for funding restoration. KW Garner has authored over 300 nominations in three states to the National Register of Historic Places over a wide range of topics, styles, and building or district t types.
The Downtown and Northside Plymouth Historic Districts are some of the earliest National Register nominations completed by Garner. These have led to other investments and programs since they were completed more than 20 years ago. This includes Historic Preservation Funds that initiated restoration of the Marshall County Courthouse.
